Hello! I hope this is allowed--the sharing of fanarts in this fashion.
I've created a piece of Gwaine/Merlin Fanart over at my LJ. It's just for fun, however, I'd love if it inspires some writers to create fic from the theme of it. It's a redux/Au moment I've proposed that would take place during the season 3 Episode "Gwaine".
It's very work safe, if a little overly dramatic. A PG only because you can see some blood.
Done in comic illustration style. I had fun with the looseness of the ink work for this. Sometimes I ink tight, sometimes I ink loose and crazy, this is somewhere in the middle and boy did I have fun. Oh, and since it was my first time drawing the characters in a remotely realistic way (I'm new to the show and the fandom and have only done one chibi sketch before now) I was pleased to find that they really cooperated well. (Unlike characters from some fandoms
So here it is, over at Discernment Street, my personal fannish LJ.
Title: Enough (or, a history of goodbyes)
Fandom: Merlin (BBC)
Pairing: Merlin/Gwaine (mentioned Merlin/Arthur, Arthur/Gwen, Percival/Gwaine)
Rating: T (13+)
Summary If you fall in love with a drowning man, at best, you’ll have to watch him drown. At worst, you’ll drown with him. A history of goodbyes between Merlin and Gwaine.
Warnings: Spoilers from 3x04 to 5x13. Swearing, sexual references, death, slash.
Disclaimer: If I owned Merlin, the knights would all be shirtless. All the time.
(Gwaine wants to stay in Camelot. He wants to stay with Merlin. It wouldn’t matter if Merlin didn’t love him. It wouldn’t matter if Merlin didn’t even know he was still there. He’d sleep on the floor at his feet, he’d kiss him every morning before he woke up, he’d stand by the window and watch him cross the courtyard outside to work every morning. He’d watch him and he’d love him and that would be enough.)
